Syracuse University students gathered for a protest rally against JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon on Friday, April 16, in reaction to his selection as commencement speaker. Nearly 100 students chanted “Jamie Dimon’s got to go,” among other songs on the steps of Hendricks Chapel. Writing professor Minnie-Bruce Pratt read a poem she wrote in support of the protest rally, and even Chancellor Nancy Cantor showed up towards the end of the rally to talk to the students. “I hope they value their students enough to actually listen to what we’re saying and to take some of it to heart,” said protest organizer Ashley Owen.
