Hello readers, and welcome to our semi-annual Social Media Issue!
OK, so this isn’t technically the Social Media Issue, but we do have some good news: MySpace is back! Now you can breathe a sigh of relief and start contemplating who you’ll put in your Top 8. Or just read Maia Henderson’s opinion about the return of Facebook’s older brother on page 15.
If you’re still feeling nostalgic, pop in a Disney movie or head to theaters and check out Finding Nemo in 3-D. If Marlin and Dory aren’t your favorite Disney characters, wait until they release Monsters, Inc. and The Little Mermaid in 2013 and read Kayla Schultz’s story about Disney’s 3-D releases on page 14.
After you make your plans to see the newest 3-D Disney adventure, stop by page 8 to read about the newest addition to Marshall Square Mall, thrift store 3fifteen. If you’re on a budget, like most other college students, 3fifteen is the place to go for a bargain. And once you’re done there, stroll down Marshall Street with the Top 10 in hand to find some delicious pumpkin treats; be sure to pick up a big cup of pumpkin pie frozen yogurt at Yogurtland.
On a more serious note, October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and in this week’s personal essay, Allison Mariotti discusses her struggle in overcoming her mother’s breast cancer and unexpected heart attack. Head to page 16 to read about her life-changing experiences.
We’re off to grab pumpkin spice lattes!
